About Gravel
Gravel is highly versatile, coming in a range of sizes to suit many different uses, from building work and decoration, to mulching borders and use as a drainage aggregate. It is an angular type of stone which comes in a good mix of colours. Garden gravel is often cheaper than stone chippings, probably because chippings are graded or screened to a higher extent to achieve a single size or colour.
Different sizes of stone and gravel have different uses for drainage purposes. A 10mm gravel can be used as a layer for bedding pipes onto, while 20mm gravel is ideal for soakaways. Larger round 40mm stones are especially popular for French drains, helping to give a more decorative look where these come up to the surface.
Our 20mm white gravel is our most popular variety, frequently used for driveways, but 20mm gold gravel is also in demand.
