Good quality lawn turf to transform any garden into a desirable space to relax and play. Supplied in 1 sq metre rolls for collection or delivery.
Madingley Mulch are local turf suppliers who can deliver high quality lawn turf to your premises in and around Cambridge.
We supply a quality garden turf grown locally in East Anglia, which is supplied in rolls of 1 square metre, making it easy to install. As well as having a good appearance it is also disease resistant and very quick to establish after laying, with less watering needed in the early stages. The result is a good looking lawn that is ready for use in less than 14 days.
Turf needs to be collected or delivered, and then laid, as soon as possible to prevent the turf drying out. It is important to collect on the agreed date to prevent deterioration in quality. We are not responsible for the quality of turf collected after the agreed date. Due to its nature no form of refund can be given on turf unless a 48 hour notice period is given.
Turf Suppliers – Collection and Delivery Options
We offer a choice of turf delivery service or customer collection.
Typically turf arrives into our store twice a week on Tuesdays and Fridays but this can vary. It is always advisable to check to avoid disappointment!
Please contact us on 01954 212144 to get a Turf delivery quote and to arrange a delivery or to order a collection from our yard. Turf can be collected from us at £4.49 per sq metre roll.
Laying Turf
Once it has arrived turf should be stacked in a shaded area to prevent drying too quickly.
All delivered turf should ideally be laid within 24 hours after delivery to ensure a good quality finish. So it is advisable to ensure that all necessary ground preparation has been carried out prior to your planned delivery date.
Turf should be laid over a suitable soil base, ideally a fairly light, easily worked soil that allows good drainage and through which the roots can easily penetrate. Our sand/soil mix is ideal for this.
Once laid, the new turf should be watered every day – twice a day in hot weather – until it is properly rooted into the underlying soil. Lack of water in the first two weeks will cause the turf to shrink, leaving gaps in the lawn. Avoid walking on the lawn for at least the first week, as this is likely to damage the roots and leave dead patches
