Pebbles are small rounded stones which are typically up to 4cm in size. Their rounded shape is visually appealing, helping to soften the effect of hard landscaping, as well as being a somewhat safer option for children and pets. We stock a range of decorative pebbles including 20-30mm Scottish Pebbles, 20mm Blue Stone, 40mm Round Stone and 20mm or 40mm Lydd Beach Pebbles.
Cobbles are larger, highly rounded stones, typically up to 15cm in size. Many of these are produced naturally by the action of waves and it is perhaps their natural appearance which makes decorative cobbles so popular. They are especially good for edging paths and borders, as their size naturally discourages people from walking on them. We stock 50-80mm Scottish Cobbles and larger 80-150mm Cobbles.
Decorative garden pebbles and cobbles are popular because of their natural appearance and versatility. We supply these garden stones to customers across the Cambridge area.
About Garden Pebbles and Cobbles
Both garden pebbles and cobbles are valued for their subtle shades and textures, adding interest and individual character to any landscaping project. Drawn from areas such as Scotland and Lydd Beach in Kent, these stones have been shaped by nature over thousands of years and no two are exactly the same. Our Scottish pebbles and Scottish cobbles are the most popular, but we also supply other shapes and sizes to suit our customers’ needs, including the 20mm Blue Stone and 40mm Round Stone ranges.
Garden cobbles and pebbles are frequently used to provide edging for paths and patios. Because they are hard to walk on, they encourage people to stick to the path. They are also often used to enhance water features, including rock pools and ponds. These stones’ attractive appearance is one reason for choosing them, since they look equally good when wet or dry. They are also very hard-wearing and long-lasting, providing a cost-effective way to cover large spaces. Pebbles and cobbles are often combined for a mix of textures, colours and shapes.
